After AUUC founder Brian Winstone passed away in 1971, his parents presented to AUUC many of Brian’s books and photographs and photographic apparatus, plus $250 to purchase books as a memorial to Brian. Those books were added to the club collection, which then got named as the Winstone Memorial Collection, kept together in the Biological Library. Some of those books had Winstone Memorial Collection written on the pocket for the borrowing card, but most had no visible identification.
When the Biological Sciences Library was disestablished the Winstone Memorial Collection got dispersed, and the collection almost wholly lost its identity. Dr Garry J. Tee has designed a book label to be pasted into the books of the Winstone Memorial Collection to identify them.
