Diving in NZ

Where we dive

We, as a club, dive all around New Zealand and even the world, however most of our diving is concentrated to the northeast of the North Island. Our club boat can be used from East Cape (near Gisbourne) to North Cape (east of Cape Reinga), so naturally this is where we spend a lot of our time diving. We also travel to other places such as Lake Taupo once a year, and we try to run on-demand trips to places like Milford and Marlborough Sounds and the Mikhall Lermatov. Some club members with a few more pennies in their pocket also like to trip to the Pacific Islands during the NZ winter, popular spots include Nuie and Rarotonga. For more info on where in NZ we dive, check out Our Destinations.

The below map shows where we do the majority of our diving: green placemarks indicate all levels trips, blue placemarks indicate intermediate trips and red placemarks indicate advanced trips. Note these experience levels aren’t set in stone, if you’re unsure where you fit, ask your trip organiser!
